In the past, I have attempted to create an anime community back in 2015. Of course, that attempt failed mostly due to the lack of focus. After some consideration, I would like to give it another go.
Just recently, I have considered creating an anime community focused primarily on Yuri and Girls Club Japanese media such as anime, manga, and video games. Compared to its counterpart Yaoi, which have three big community forums, there isn’t any big communities besides Reddit that is focuses on Yuri. I am here to change this especially the growing interest thanks to more anime adaptations of Yuri genre stories finally making their appearance.
With that, I have considered my options. I have to admit that I even considered creating a Mastodon instance. Mastodon is basically an up and coming a self-hosted twitter like social network where you can create a community and have it connected with others. I decided against this because I simply don’t have the sever resources to host one (it requires a lot of disk space for caching images). For now, I decided on the alternative.
Kireina Yuri (綺麗な百合, lit. Beautiful Lilies) is a Yuri and Girl’s Club Anime Community and Anime Blog indexer that allows fans to discuss and promote these genres.
The goals are simple. With Kireina Yuri, I want to create the premier and friendly Yuri and Girl’s Club anime community. This will enable discussion about these genres, allow others to share ideas for Yuri creations, and much more. Of course, you will be able to talk about non-Yuri and non-Girls’ Club anime, manga, video games and more. However it won’t be our main focus.
This community will also allow reviewers and creators to promote their Yuri and Girl’s Club related content. We can syndicate your newest posts under your username just like on Anime Nano via RSS. You will be able to view the latest blog posts and creations on the home page.
In addition, the users can also view these feeds separately. They will be able to search and view past posts by going to the respective forums that contain the syndicated posts. Note that you don’t necessarily need to be active in order to have your content promoted. You simply need to register and send a request to have your content syndicated.
Note that you don’t have to be a Yuri and/or Girl’s Club Reviewer or create related content to join. If you enjoy Yuri and/or Girls’ Club anime, you are free to join and discuss about them.
Feel free to join today, promote it and share your feedback here or on the forums. We also have a Patreon if you wish to support us since the community will be ad-free. Kireina Yuri is still a work in progress and will change as it develops and grows. As we grow, we will ask for volunteers to help moderate the forums. I will also consider creating social media accounts if we grow big enough. ¶
