Comic Girls – Episode 4 – Ruki Overcomes Her Anxieties

April 26, 2018 by Chikorita157 Leave a Comment

Kaoruko’s cat friends pay a visit.

It seems that Ruki is sleepy. It’s obvious why.

It appears that Ruki is sleepy after staying up for two nights straight. It becomes more apparent during physical education when she knocks someone down. Thankfully, she is able to get some sleep thanks to Kaoruko. During the evening, Koyume and Kaoruko knowing that Ruki is exhausted, they decided to help her out.

While Ruki is reluctant at first given that she draws ecchi, she eventually allows them to. She eventually receives news from her editor that she will do an autograph session. Given that the author’s notes mention having big breasts, this causes Ruki to become anxious.  On the day of the signing, Hanazono done Ruki’s hair and makeup to make her appear more mature. This gives Ruki enough confidence to do the signing event, which mostly have young adults and married women attending.

Clearly, Ruki reaches her limit.

I have to admit that it’s funny to see how Ruki acts when she is sleepy. The way that she recites lines from the book and falling on the classmate is amusing. At the same time, the teachers complained about her acting lewd. However, I can’t blame Ruki since one would become exhausted from staying up all night for two days.

A nice shipping moment as Ruki takes a nap with Kaoruko.

On the other hand, her sleepiness does give us a nice moment. While Ruki can’t sleep without her plushie, she uses Kaoruko instead. I have to admit that this scene as too cute. It’s not surprising given that Kaoruko see Ruki as her mentor.

While it’s too much for Koyume, she still pushes on.
Obviously, Tsubasa is annoyed that Ruki doesn’t have any faith in Kaoruko.

Aside from that, the reactions when Koyume and Kaoruko saw Ruki’s transcripts are hilarious. It was too much for them. Still, it’s funny how Koyume decides to do it anyway since she was the model in some of the drawings. As for Kaoruko, it’s amusing how Ruki tries to have Kaoruko do something else even if Kaoruko still wants to do it. She thinks it will ruin Kaoruko’s innocence. Still, it’s funny to see Tsubasa become angry at Ruki for not having faith in Kaoruko.

Kaoruko shows how it’s done.

When Kaoruko notices a computer box, it’s funny how Ruki can’t get it to work. She took out the monitor and try to turn it on with no avail.  Of course, it won’t work since it’s not plugged into something. In other words, she didn’t hook up the desktop tower that is still in the box. As expected, she is not good at computers, which is surprising. It shows when she uses the computer tower as a seat. Thankfully, Kaoruko is there to set it up and teach Ruki how to use it. This is not surprising since Kaoruko draws manga digitally.

This is how Ruki feels about the signing.

As for the signing anxiety, it’s understandable why Ruki is anxious about it. Her editor puts down that Ruki is well endowed in the profile, when in reality, it’s not true. This is why she wants someone else to take her place. Of course, she can’t since it’s her work.

As expected, Ruki looks pretty that she looks like a different person.

Thanks to the power of makeup, it gives her the confidence she needs to overcome her anxieties. With that, people won’t actually notice that it’s actually Ruki. Still, it’s nice to see her realize that her fans love her work and ask for love life advice. In the end, she comes to the realization that she doesn’t regret drawing ecchi.

Ruki cries with tears of joy after seeing her fans show their appreciation for her work.

Besides that, given the nature of the work she creates, it can explain why she decides to dorm. Her family will probably not approve the work she is creating. Still, it’s funny to see a hypothetical reaction from her grandparents as well. Of course, she didn’t take it well. Either way, the next episode should be fun.
