Now that Special Week finally got her strategy down, how will she do in the derby? Will she make a comeback against Seiun Sky? Meanwhile, El Condor Pasa also prepares for the same race too.
From last time, Special learns what she needs to do from the mock race. With that, she continues her training to go beyond her limits. She eventually manages to do so in a race up the stairs with Suzuka. Meanwhile Teio tries to convince Mejiro McQueen to join Team Spica at the request of Gold Ship. While McQueen doesn’t intend to join, she decides to help the team out.
Also, at the Derby, Seiun Sky took the lead. However, Special and El Pasa manages to take the lead. Special at the last-minute reaches beyond her limit. This ultimately causes a tie when she and El Pasa passed the goal at the same time. In short, El Pasa and Special both won. Special is happy that she is able kept her mother’s promise and achieve her dream.
From the looks of it, it seems that the Trainer is finally taking the training seriously. After the mock race, Special is finally starting to improve her times until she got her times down to 38 seconds. Aside from the diet, Trainer’s efforts are finally coming to fruition. It definitely shows in the derby as Special manages to overcome Seiun Sky.
In the end, while Special didn’t overcome El Pasa, she come neck to neck causing a tie. I guess this makes Special very close to the speed of El Pasa after all the training. Still, Special foster mother’s reaction when Special won is priceless. Also, it’s nice to see Suzuka come out to the field and hug Special after winning in a tie. In short, it’s a nice race in my opinion.
Also, it seems that Suzuka have a dream. While she has all those races in the fall, she won’t tell Special her dream. I wonder what they are. Still, it’s interesting that she only came in 9th place. This is surprising since she is faster than Special. Maybe she can to learn a thing from Special.
Aside from that, we can’t forget about Gold Ship and McQueen. There is a reason McQueen is hesitant in joining Team Spica. At the same time, Gold Ship seems to want McQueen to join. Maybe it has to do with all the pranks Gold Ship played on McQueen that backfired on her? I have to admit that it was hilarious to see every one flop.
Nonetheless, it’s funny to see Gold Ship’s reaction when McQueen won’t sign the application. It appears that she wants to run with McQueen together while she cries. Either way, I already see a Gold Ship and McQueen ship happening. ¶
