Machi becoming an idol? That’s impossible!
Life Updates
It seems that disabling likes is not possible given that one can simply like posts through the WordPress.com reader. In short, I am leaving it be, but hopefully I will find other ways to increase interactions on my blog in the future.
As in other news, it seems that the worst possible outcome came in regards to my car. Yes, the repairs it needs cost way more than what it’s worth. I’m still deciding what to do, but a new car is a possibility, meaning that I will need to cut back a bit although I will be getting my promotion next month. This means I won’t be going to any Anime conventions anytime soon since I need to pay for car payments and conventions are expensive.
In other news, there is a survey that is being done the International Anime Research team about the fandom. Feel free to do it if you want. Now let’s focus on this week’s impressions.
Bakuon – Episode 10

As it seems, Chisame tried a bike racing game at an arcade and she does poorly at it while the other girls did a bit better. It’s sad that video games do not usually take realism seriously, especially with games involving motorbikes. With that, it’s easy to see why she has so much in common with Azusa, aside from her height complex given that Chisame is an experienced bike racer. Even when she sat on each girl’s bikes, it’s possible for her to ride them although she is not satisfied with the seating.

On the other hand, it’s funny that the biking school she goes to does not help her at all. The instructors basically gave her a pass without teaching her anything about the street rules. Yep, it’s probably a bad thing to assume that if one races on bikes in circuits, they have no problem riding on public roads. It does not work that way since there is a lot of laws one has to follow. Aside from that, I’m happy that Hajiri is taking lessons to get her license properly.
Kuma Miko – Episode 10

It seems that Machi wants a cell phone after going to school and seeing elementary students having one. The funny thing is that nobody nowadays cares about regular cell phones since smartphones are the craze these days. I mean who talks about what ringtones one has on their phones anymore? I guess they decided to focus on cell phones just to poke fun at the village not having cellphone reception.
The main focus of the episode is Yoshio’s idea of making Machi into an idol. Yep, she got forced into wearing an embarrassing outfit, namely the aforementioned 2nd outfit with bear ears that Natsu rejected at first, but find it cute later. Yep, Machi basically wore all the outfits she tried on in the third episode, which she didn’t like, except for the one Yoshio’s mother made.

Still, it’s funny to see Machi’s reaction as she sings a song on stage while three men tries to sing the lyrics. Yep, it seems that Machi was scared at them despite desiring life in a city. I am not sure how she is going to survive, but we’ll see how it goes next time
Pan de Peace – Episode 10

It seems that the rivalry between Fuyumi and Mai is heating up with their fight to win Noa’s heart as Mai goes to her bread shop. From the looks of it, it seems that after Fuyumi and Mai tried each other’s bread and Fuyumi taking the paste off Mai’s face and eats it, it seems that they might be falling in love with each other. Will this pairing become a reality? Who knows, but it will be cute if it happens.
Hundred – Episode 10

Yet again, Claire decides to have a festival, which of course gives an opportunity for Vitaly Tynyanov to infiltrate Little Garden by using one of the students as a puppet. In short, things are going to get worse next time for our heroes.
Aside from that, the episode is mostly about Karen becoming a singer thanks to her Hundred and of course, Emilia wearing a maid’s outfit. I have to admit that she looks cute in it. Yep, Erica and Reitia now knows that Emilia is a girl and sent photos to everyone in the school. In short, Emilia’s disguise is pretty much ruined.
Last Week’s Anime Power Rankings
- Haifuri – Episode 9
- Anne Happy – Episode 9
- Bakuon – Episode 9
- Kumamiko – Episode 9
I swear KumaMiko is one of those shows that one can’t help but love.
So Pan de Peace teased viewers with a potential “rivals turned lovers” alternative. I’m down with that should it happen but considering who the two are fighting over I doubt they’ll realize this anytime soon.
So Bakuon!! was heavily inspired by K-ON! Doesn’t stop it from being a really good show. Chisa-Nyan fits in the cast like a glove. I look forward to seeing what happens after Hijiri and her get their licenses.
I was surprised that the rivalry between Mai and Fuyumi increased the potential for becoming a couple. Hopefully we will see more of these moments later on.
But yes, Bakuon does reminds me a lot of K-ON, well at least the setup, but at least there is a lot of emphasis on motorcycles aside from the cute and enjoyable comedy, which makes the show more enjoyable, especially what the girls do as they ride bikes.
