The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls – Episode 4 – Let’s Make a PR Recording!

January 30, 2015 by Chikorita157 6 Comments
Rika and Miria eagerly wants to be part of the recording.
Rika and Miria eagerly wants to be part of the recording.

After Rin, Uzuki and Mio had a successful debut on stage from last time, the producer gave them the task to create a PR video. I wonder what it will be about…

At last, we are finally going to be acquainted with all the girls involved with the project. Sure, we are given a glimpse of some of them from last time, especially Miku who was jealous towards the main trio for having a debut on stage as backup dancers. While we got to see her acting like a cat as usual, other girls in the group finally get some screen time. For instance, Rika revealed that she wants to become an idol like her sister with Miria butting in during the PV video and saying that she has big dreams of becoming an idol too. Of course, there is Riina, who is absorbed in listening to rock music through her headphones in the corner. She wants to become a rock idol.

Of course, there were other girls that stood out while Mio filmed the episode. In particular:

Kirari and Anzu

Yep, this is Kirari's ultimate weapon... candy!
Yes, this is Kirari’s ultimate weapon… candy!

It seems that they are along with each other very well, well at least in Kirari’s view. It’s funny that she carried Anzu in her arms while wearing a Godzilla costume. Watching her drag Anzu around to do work was amusing, something that we will see more of in future episodes.

As expected, it worked!
As expected, it worked!

As for Anzu herself, she is what I expected. She freveals that she wants to live off her loyalties from being an idol while being carried in Kirari’s arm. The funny thing is that she knows how to avoid work. For instance, she ran away from Kirari without her noticing and tricked everyone into thinking that she will change into a better outfit and then locked everyone out of from the main room. I have to give her credit for that even though her freedom does not last long. Even so, it seems that candy is basically the only thing that motivates her to do work. When Kirari threw it in the air, she basically comes out from hiding in an instant. Still, I wonder when we are going to see her playing video games. I guess in a future episode, I suppose.

Kanako and Chieri

I admit that Kanako looks adorable as she is.
I admit that Kanako looks adorable as she is.

From the last episode, Kanako revealed that she loves cooking. This time, she made sweets for everyone to enjoy. While I felt bad for her when her trainer scolded her, I don’t think she should be conscious about her weight. Her BMI (Body Mass Index) is 22.2. When using age adjusted BMI, she in the 66th percentile, meaning that it’s in the healthy range. I blame society for this and I don’t think she should be too worried since she already has an attractive appearance.

As for Chieri, I sympathize with her since I’m not exactly the best when it comes to public speaking (although I don’t get too nervous). Considering that she is very shy, it’s expected that she would become anxious, especially after she lost her notes. I think she will eventually get over it as she advances her career as an idol.

Minami and Anastasia

Hint: They are going to be in a unit with the main trio.
Hint: They are going to be in a unit with the main trio.

While Mio considers their introductions a bit too ordinary, they were enjoyable after the two finished the second take. It seems that Minami is very good at Lacrosse judging by the stunts she done in the recording. Also, Anya looked adorable in the cheerleader’s outfit. She had a pretty nice voice with her accent during the recording. Also, Anya seems to like stargazing just like Takane and they are both half-Japanese.

Ranko

I can't help to think that Ranko is a mix of Rikka and Satone.
I can’t help to think that Ranko is a mix of Rikka and Satone.

Although her behavior did not change much from the last episode, it’s hilarious that the main trio couldn’t understand the meaning of her riddle. In short, she just wanted them to record her. Aside from that, her laugh and illusions were just as enjoyable from last time.

Although we didn’t get to see the producer in action until the end, it seems that he is planning yet another debut. This time, the main trio, Minami and Anya are going to make their own songs for their first CD debut. I wonder what songs they are planning to record. I guess we have to wait until next time.

Allow me to borrow your catchphrase in the following sentence. I admit that even though The Great Ranran’s segment was my highlight I rewatched Anzu’s segment several times. Also do not hide the fact you were squealing with glee deep down during the Anzu segment.

Yep, I admit that I watched that scene several times, but yep… candy allows you to catch an Anzu… Still, I wonder if sour candy has the same effect.

        Wild Anzu appeared.
        Used Candy Ball.
Congratulations, the wild Anzu was caught.
Would you like to give a new name to Anzu?

Compared to the main cast, I don’t know the names for some of them, although I do know quite a couple on top of my head, particularly the popular ones.
