Little Busters Refrain – Episode 3 – Yuiko’s Final Wish

October 20, 2013 by chikorita157 2 Comments

She looks smart, but never smiles.
She looks smart, but never smiles.

At last, the mystery about the time loop is shown.

While I thought that this would be an emotional time loop, but with its absurdity like snowing in June sounded kind of strange. I thought it was some error, but this was actually the case and for a good reason. Apparently, it was all a dream, which Yuiko wished for so she can be with her friends forever. It seems that she never had any friends when she was a child while displaying no emotions, which is why I felt sad when she left. While it’s clear that things can’t last forever, at least the ending to her arc was a bittersweet opposed to a depressing ending.

It seems that the other guys don't know that something fishy is happening.
It seems that the other guys don’t know that something fishy is happening.

On the other hand, there were a few hints about how the later episodes will play out. First has to do with Kyousuke suddenly disappearing. It’s quite obvious that he won’t be around forever. However, is he behind the world that Riki and the others are in? What about the field trip that they keep talking about? I think there is some connection with the field trip and Kyousuke in regards to the secret of the world. I think we will find out more when Rin’s romantic feelings for Riki finally settles in while the build up to the refrain continues, complete with a potential time loop and melodrama. With that, I think everyone needs a box of tissues in front of themselves because things are about to get more depressing.

While Yuiko doesn't win, it was a nice ending.

Now it’s time for Rin. Can’t wait to see how they’ll adapt her story arc…*_*

I haven’t finished the visual novel, but from what I have seen so far in the second season, I think it will be good.
