Tamako Market – Episode 6 – The Hot Mid-Summer Spook Fest

February 13, 2013 by Chikorita157 6 Comments
Tamako is being a bit too ambitious painting Cherry Blossom pedals green.
Tamako is being a bit too ambitious painting Cherry Blossom pedals green.

It seems that the hot summer day boogeyman is keeping everyone away, until Tamako intervenes!

Believe it or not, it’s kind of ironic that most people wouldn’t go out at all during a hot and summer day. Of course, most of them would be at the pool or at home enjoying air conditioning. This makes me wonder why the market place doesn’t have fans hanging from their ceilings in the first place as not all the stops are out in the open. Aside from that, Tamako as expected intervenes and decides to have a haunted house to attract visitors.

You just got cursed!
You just got cursed!

As for the haunted house, I don’t find it all that scary, but cute instead. While they manage to scare Tamako’s teacher real badly, it seems that people enjoyed it that they even hang out in the market place, which is a plus. However, there is one thing that I find silly and it’s the shop owners thinking that the market is haunted. While some might have experienced this before, they actually did something without realizing it and then assume it’s haunted. Even so, I think Kana making Dera to do her dirty work with a can of paint that unintentionally poured on an office worker is kind of cruel. It is a good promotional tactic that worked well, but there is no end to the abuse Dera experiences.

I think they are overreacting...
I think they are overreacting…

From the look of the last scene before the ending theme, it seems that a mysterious brown-skinned girl has finally arrived. What is her reason of coming? Maybe it’s because Dera is not making any progress and instead eating lots of sweets.  Whatever the reason may be, I’m curious on how this girl will turn out when she officially appears.

I wonder how they managed to get scared considering how cute were the ghosts…:D

Only Tamako’s teacher can do that… but still, they gotta stop abusing Dera.

Seems quite interesting how Dera reacted to Ghost House attraction in Tamako Market. I just realize Anko similar to Chinese Angku stick cake.

Maybe I got the feeling that they scared the hell out of Dera on purpose… Even so, I find Kana having him bring back a red paint can back to storage, it’s a good marketing tactic.
