After winning the 5th badge, I continued my journey. Before I can, my rival and Cheren want to see what is up with the mysterious ship. (Image Source)
Once I won the required participation in the Pokémon World Tournament, there is a mysterious ship on one of the docks. When we board it, this was Team Plasma’s ship. Once all the grunts get defeated, they revealed their plan to take over Unova and the need to get a legendary Pokémon to accomplish it.
Once we got kicked off the ship, I head for the Electric Rock Cave. Before I can enter, Cheren takes me to the Season Research Station share some infomation about the abnormal drop in temperature. Afterwards, I get interrupted again by the Old Team Plasma after encountering a Cobalion (コバルオン). They give some information about the three legendary Pokémon along with Ghetsis evil ambitions that he never gave up from the last game. As for Electric Rock Cave, it’s remains unchanged from the last game. I had to push the floating rocks to advance.
Once I arrived in Mistralton City (フキヨセシティ), the Professor and the city’s Gym Leader, Skyla (フウロ) came to meet me. After they finish talking, I can finally challenge her without doing any additional tasks. Before I did that, I went to the tower to retrieve a Lucky Egg from the professor.
From the last game, her gym’s arrangement changed a bit. Instead of riding on fans, you have a gust blowing every so often. To advance, you need to take shelter in the partially enclosed walls.
Like last time, Skyla still uses flying type Pokémon and her team is very similar, except that Skarmory （エアームド) replaces Unfezant. This change made the battle somewhat tricky since it has a normal resistance to ice. Still, it’s relatively easy to beat her Pokémon, especially if you have electric ones.
Once I won my 6th badge, Skyla allows us to ride on the airplane. Of course, Bianca wants to come so she can explore Rebirth Mountain. After flying in the sky for a while, we land in Yamaji Town (ヤマジタウン). From there, I team up with Bianca inside the mountain until I reached the end of Undella Town (サザナミトウン) where I battle my rival again.
Heading up north, I arrived at Lacunosa Town and meet the professor again. I hear the story from an old lady about the legend of Lacunosa Town that prevents people from going out during the night. Afterwards, we run into Zinzolin who still believes in Ghetsis’s twisted ideals. We beat his Pokémon and then head to the next town.
Later, I arrived in Opelucid City (ソウリュウシティ), I decided to challenge the Gym. Before I did that, I traded a Bagon (タツベイ) and trained it into a Salamence (ボーマンダ) nicknamed シンク. Also, I captured a Virizon (ビリジオン) after wasting several Timer Balls to catch it.
Compared to the last gym, Drayden is the same Gym Leader in both games and uses Dragon-type Pokémon. To advance, you have to defeat either trainer before you can go up. As for the gym battle, it was extremely easy considering that I have ちはや with her Ice attacks destroys his first two Pokemon while シンク wipes out his last one. Regardless, I finally got my 7th badge after procrastinating for one week.
With the 7th gym finally down, I will just cut it off here. Next time, we will obtain some information from Drayden and then get the last badge. We’ll see you then and hopefully I will write it up sooner.
