Hibiki’s Pokemon Adventure (Pokémon Black 2) – Part I

June 28, 2012 by chikorita157 Leave a Comment

Finally, the wait is over and Pokémon Black 2 has finally arrived from Japan via Air Mail. As you know, Pokémon Black and White 2 are direct sequels to their previous games, which take place 2 years later. Like last time, I will share my experiences of the game and explain some new features in the newest games… so, let’s get started! (Image Source)

Like the predecessors, the Japanese version of the games can use ひらかな or 漢字. If you know enough Kanji, this makes understanding the dialog a lot clearer. Since I only know a good amount of Japanese grammar and not enough Kanji, I will use hiragana so I can understand what they say and look up new words.

One of the changes from the previous games is that Juniper’s Minccino (アララギ博士(はかせ)のチラーミィ) evolved into a Cinccino (チラチーノ). Aside from that, she doesn’t have much a role at the moment since the new trainer stuff got delegated to Bianca (ベル). Yes, she is really cute, especially with those glasses!

For this game, I named myself Hibiki (ひびき) and the rival as Kuroi (くろい).

I resetted my DS a few times and I got a female Snivy (ツタージャ) and named it Mikimiki (ミキミキ). After picking a Starter Pokémon, you battle your rival. I defeated him relatively quickly. Once the battle was over, Bianca took me to the Pokémon Center to heal and then I get my Running Shoes and a Town Map. Then, I headed north where I ran into the former Champion, Alder.

Once I arrived in Sangi Town, we go further to Sangi Ranch to battle the rival and hand him the town map. From there, we have to seek out the Herdier that got stolen. When I found it, the thief ran away and threw a TM21, which teaches frustration.

Girl "Aa! Adeku, Give that person some training?"

Once I return the Pokémon to it’s rightful owner, we head back to Sangi Town to Alder’s house for some more battles. Both of these trainers have the elemental monkeys, which are dependent on what Starter you picked. As always, they are easy.

When we leave a house, a man gives us a metal box. You also receive a metal, which are like Trophies. You earn them by satisfying various conditions throughout the game.  I’ll talk about these later in the game.

Since I have done a lot, the next post will focus on the first Gym Leader. You should know who it is by now, but I won’t spoil the surprise!

Current Team

  • ミネズミ(M) Level 11
  • ヨーテリー(M)Level 11
  • チョロネコ(F)Level 4
  • ミキミキ(ツタージャ) (F) Level 6
  • コダック (F) Level 5

Notes

Yes, the Memory Link (思い出リークー) worked with my English Pokémon White. I’ll show you some of these features later on. ¶
