It seems that some Piracy had a huge negative impact on Marika’s time management skills.
As with anything in life, you can’t focus too much in one thing and expect to perform at the same level. Unfortunately for Marika, she had a bit too much fun with her new job as captain that she let everything slide. It shows with her failing grades on all the quizzes and tests after taking the new job. It’s not too surprising since she sleeps during class from staying up too long. I know how it feels because I go to sleep at midnight and feel tired in the morning despite getting my work done ahead of time. Occasionally, I find myself sleeping in class, although this didn’t happen often because I’m fully awake during the afternoon. Still, she really needs to manage her time correctly by not taking the part-time job. That way, she can use that time to study for better grades.
Aside from that, Chiaki appears again to eat another parfait. It’s blatantly obvious that she came to visit Marika, but still won’t admit it. Even so, it’s interesting how Mami says that Marika is brilliant and wants to become like her mother. It shows when she doesn’t want to drop out of school or stop her part-time job. She may look bold, but sometimes, you can’t do everything at once. Eventually, she has to give up her job at the maid café in order to achieve her planned goals.
Overall, this episode is a build up on what will happen next time. She essentially did her pirate act while wearing all that makeup. I do admit that having all of that on her face doesn’t look right. However, it does bring a surprise. Apparently, a child that is a princess secretly boards the pirate ship. This only makes things more interesting considering the prospect of her trying to run away from home or something. Either way, we will learn about her situation in the next episode.
