Chikorita Cast – Episode 2 – State of the AniBlogosphere (AniBlog Tourney Edition)

It has been a while since I did a podcast, but it’s finally alive, for now at least. Since I don’t feel like writing about this subject in written form again, I’m doing it in video podcast form. Also, I got a new microphone, which is another reason I want to record one. However, I’m not perfect because I don’t make podcasts on a frequent basis.

In this episode, I will analyze some data I gathered about the state of blogging in the Aniblogosphere. The contains all the blogs participated in the first round with a few dead ones in the second round. So enjoy and feel free suggest other topics I should focus on in future podcasts.

Melancholy of AniBlog Tourney II – Growing Pains, Ballot Stuffing and Drama

As it seems, there is no sign of life in the second Aniblog Tourney as the organizers try to procure a secure voting system. From the mess caused by ballot stuffing, I have my doubts on whether or not they will ever recover. With that, I like to share my thoughts on why these tactics undermines the whole tournament. Red Bracket Blog Critiquing – Part 3 & 4 of 4

Since spring semester is coming to an end, things are about to become busy for me in the next two weeks. For that, all my thoughts for now on will consist of two days of polling in one post.

In this part, I will review the last two days for the Red Bracket. For intensive purposes, I will not review CSW’s Anime Blog since they got disqualified. However, I will do a review of Sekijitsu in the next round. Since the decision is controversial, please do not talk about it here. If I see any of these comments, I will delete them because I don’t want any drama to come on my blog.

Green Bracket Blog Critiquing – Part 2 & 3 out of 4

From the feedback I have received, I will not give blogs a grade nor focus too much on grammatical or spelling errors.  Instead, I will place all my attention on the overall content and design. If the content sounds rough or awkward overall, I will indicate it in my suggestion that he/she should work more on their writing. Even with the changes I made, I will not tell anyone who I voted for.

Chikorita Cast – Episode 1 – Aniblogosphere Tourney Recap

Well, this marks the first episode of my new podcast, which will focus on various topics regarding to Anime and the fandom. For now, it will work on an infrequent basis since it takes time to edit and record (future episodes will be audio only).If anyone is interested in joining for one of the episodes, I’ll be happy to do so. Just contact me.

In this episode, I will talk about my results from the Anime Blog Tourney while I record myself through the camera. Of course, the results surprised many, including myself, but not a big deal.

Since most people mistaken me as a male tsundere, I decided to introduce myself a bit more. I explain my background and such. So, I hope you enjoy and feel free to talk about it! Also, I wish good luck to the other participants in the tourney. I should have the other critiques for the Green Bracket by the end of this week.

Green Bracket Blog Critiquing – Part 1 out of 4

As promised, I will critique people’s blogs so people can improve their blogs for the future, regardless if they win or not. As stated in my list of criteria in the inaugural post, I’m basing my grading on that. For blog owners, I will write a few suggestions and my overall impressions. They will get published after all the blogs in the bracket had their polls opened.

For the first one, I will give criticism to the first quarter of the Green Bracket. If you are the author of these blogs, please take it with a grain of salt as these are my opinions and they aren’t meant to offend you.

During the first Aniblog Tourney, I experienced a close loss in the first round. Since then, I have learned from my mistakes by improving my content and interacted with more people. Now, the second Aniblog Tourney is about to begin and we are up against Draggle’s Anime Blog.

As most say, quality is always better than quantity. With that, I have been working hard on writing more posts outside the realm of episodic posts. So, check out my opinion pieces that I have handpicked (you can see more in the Editorials category) and feel free to comment on them if you have any thoughts before you vote… (unhide the spoiler to see the recommended posts)
