Let’s Play The iDOLM@STER 2 – Episode 1 – Part 1

While I have uploaded first three parts during Spring Break, I suppose I should make a post about my third Let’s Play since I have uploaded the first half of Episode 1. In this Let’s Play, I will play a game that some people in the blogosphere saw the Anime of last year. Yes, it’s The iDOLM@STER, rather one of the 2^nd vision games in the franchise. (Image Source)

Before I started recording the actual footage and commentary, I made sure that it plays correctly while I recorded.  I do admit that it has been two months since I played the game. Therefore, I got a bit rusty. Once I started playing again, I got back where I started.

In this Let’s Play, I decided to pick Miki as my unit’s leader because I haven’t done her story yet and I need to complete her story to unlock the extend outfit that “Project Fairy” wore. Sure, some people disliked her because she took most of the spotlight in the anime. By doing her story, perhaps some people will change their mind about her, although she eventually falls in love with the producer (the player’s character) and starts calling me “Honey” after beating Ryuuguu Komachi at Week 21 as you see later. Aside from that, Chihaya and Yukiho are her unit members since they are my favorite idols (I can’t pick Azusa since you can’t produce her in the normal gameplay mode and Takane, she doesn’t quite fit unless I do a Project Fairy unit).

In the first part, it consists of the first six weeks. From there, I explain how the gameplay works if you never played an Idolmaster game in your life. As you see in the videos below, it plays like a visual novel with some mini and rhythm games stuffed in. So, I hope you will enjoy it and hopefully convinces you to import the game (although you might want to learn some Japanese first).

By the way, I’m playing the Playstation 3 version of the game, so things will differ if you own the 360 one.
