Fall 2011 Preview – The Season of Sequels (Updated)

Fall 2011 Anime Season is just around the corner with a few starting in September. If you have noticed already, this fall is full of sequels since there are many continuations and prequels that are airing. Out of the list of shows, I chosen four shows (besides The iDOLM@STER) I will be covering for the season.

Also, Melative will provide all information for the shows listed here (maybe incomplete).(Image Source)

Fate Zero

Fate Zero

While I haven’t gotten so far with Fate/stay night, I have enjoyed the first few episodes once the story got rolling. The only problem with the show is that the animation gave a mixed reaction mainly in part of Studio Deen. With this prequel, it would be interesting to see how everything started before the visual novel. Considering that Gen Urobuchi is the author of the light novel and have worked on Madoka Magica, which had a lot of praise, I expect we will see the same greatness. Furthermore, Yuki Kajiura is working on the music and Ufotable is working on the animation, so the expectations are already up there.

Working!! Second Season

Working!! Second Season

From last year, Working!! brought a lot of crazy comedy involving a bunch of restaurant employees which had quirky personalities. Even though Inami’s punching of men got old really fast, I really liked the comedic moments, especially when Yamada came around and Souta crossdresses as Kotori. Hopefully Inami will finally overcome her androphobia by the end of this season or we might be in for another beating…

As for the title, it seems that adding another punctuation became a popular trend over the past few years. Hayate no Gotoku and K-ON are the prime examples of this since they added another exclamation point at the end of the title. But hey, at least they are creative this time around by adding an apostrophe in the title.

Shinryaku!? Ika Musume

Shinryaku!? Ika Musume

If you haven’t had enough of the antics from Ika Musume and her friends, there is finally a second season! Not much to say about the second season since it’s more of the same. Hopefully, Mini Ika makes another appearance again since it was adorable.

This pretty much wraps up my picks for the fall and this list is final. If you need any additional impressions with the next season, check out Seinime’s, Yumeka’s and Honya’s fall season preview. Below is the expected posting schedule for the shows airing in fall. These are subject to change depending on the release times of these episodes. In addition, first airing times (in JST) are also added for convince.

Fate Zero and Guilty Crown are my two main picks of the season, though I can’t say I disagree with your two other picks.

I saw your post on Working and Ika Musune… Both shows have good comedic moments, except when Inami punches men too much… That is a problem.

Huh. You don’t have a couple of other shows in mind?

The maximum I blog about for each season is 5. Considering that I am in college and need to spend some of the time on homework and studying, I can’t really watch the whole season without stressing myself out and I have no desire to since I’m relatively picky. Blogging fatigue is not a situation I really want to get into.

Besides the shows I have listed above, I still have iDOLM@STER that is continuing onto the Fall season. I will probably tack Tamayura to the list, but have to see how the OVA play out before committing myself (the post for the first two episodes should be up in a few hours).
